High-profile ABC journalist Emma Alberici has thanked surgeons for saving her fingers after they were badly cut in the blades of a stick blender after a bloody kitchen accident.

Holding up her heavily bandaged hand, Alberici posted a series of photographs from her hospital bed at Sydney’s Prince of Wales Hospital.

“Fingers survived thanks to the incredible work of surgeon & team at Prince of Wales Hospital.
