Aussie actor Sarah Roberts says she is “loving life at the moment” but avoids “the magazine aisle” after her high-profile split from fellow Aussie star James Stewart.
The former Home And Away favourite – who recently opened up about her shock split from ex-husband Stewart – will headline the inclusive The Designer Brands Cosmetics x ICON Management 2024 Unsigned Model Search, kicking off this week.
“For a while I wasn’t the happiest chappy on the block but I’m loving life at the moment,” Roberts, 39, said.
“So much has changed. I don’t have any regrets.
“I think (it’s good) if you can learn to grow, which is what I always wanted to do within my marriage. I wanted to do it with a team partner and that’s going to be someone else now.
“I’ve learned a lot from that experience (divorce) and from other relationships I’ve had, too.”
The TV and film star said she hoped that in speaking her “truth”, it would allow other people to follow suit.
“I’m not a robot, of course, and things hurt — like I definitely don’t hang out in the magazine aisle.
“(But) I really dislike dishonesty and I think if people can step into their authenticity, there’s power in that.”
Roberts said she had wanted to be an ambassador for the DB Cosmetics x ICON model search to help young people “embark on the industry feeling seen and represented”.
“Growing up as a young girl with brown skin, I found it difficult.
“I didn’t see a lot of people that looked like me represented on screen or in magazines. So I think it’s really important.”
