With all of the excesses of Roxy Jacenko, the PR queen says she is determined to teach her kids the value of hard work and giving to those in need.
That’s part of the reason her 10-year-old daughter Pixie is the 2021 ambassador for Camp Quality’s National Bucket Hat Day on September 30, supporting kids facing cancer.
“Learning to be charitable from a young age is something that’s important, because if you are not aware of it when you are younger, you are even more oblivious to it as an adult,” said Jacenko, who is also mum to seven-year-old Hunter.
“They need to see that life is going to throw you hurdles and the only way you are going to be able to deal with them is if you start at a young age seeing what different people experience and what different lives people live.”
Roxy and her mother, Doreen Davis, have both undergone treatment for breast cancer.
“Some kids don’t have any toys or anything to play with or to keep them busy,” Pixie said.
“I have good health and don’t have to go to hospitals to get checked on so I want to help.”
Pixie was selling bows and Instagram product placements at the age of three, and in May this year launched a fidgets store that made $200,000 in sales in its first month of operation.
