Nicole O’Neil has claimed she was “set up” ahead of the Real Housewives of Sydney reunion and will not be returning for another season of the controversial reality show.
It comes as Confidential can reveal production company Matchbox Pictures is working behind the scenes on a spin-off series — Real Housewives Ultimate Girls’ Trip — that would combine cast members from the Sydney and Melbourne shows.
“There’s a difference between not showing up – and being set up,” O’Neil wrote in a scathing social media post.
“If we’re talking commitments, then let’s talk facts.
“And for a second year in a row, they scheduled the reunion during a time they knew I was unavailable.”
O’Neil was the only housewife not to appear in person in this week’s pre-recorded reunion episode hosted by Osher Gunsberg and filmed at the end of last year.
Reunion dates were discussed with the women earlier in the year when contracts for the season were signed.
O’Neil said she notified producers she could not film at the end of October due to business commitments overseas.
Instead, after being offered $2000 to reimburse her flights, she filmed via video cross from a London hotel.
“I made the effort to be there via satellite,” O’Neil wrote.
“But I didn’t write the storyline, production did – and it turns out it’s a very convenient narrative.”
Other housewives have also aired their disappointment at the way the show came together.
Caroline Gaultier is furious over claims she did not fulfil her work commitments by travelling to New Zealand to film a “girls’ trip”.
She in fact claims not to have been allowed to take part due to a HR complaint made by Kate Adams.
“I did not go to NZ because a ‘certain’ cast member lodged an HR complaint for ‘Attempting to Hug without consent’,” Gaultier wrote on Instagram.
“Due to our ‘Woke’ culture, I was sidelined until the ‘investigation’ was complete … true story.”
Krissy Marsh defended Gaultier’s version of events.
“I can 100 stand by the fact producers asked you (Gaultier) to make up with Kate,” Marsh commented on a post on the @therealhousewiveszone Instagram.
“You said a hug fixes everything and when you did that to Kate she went to HR and put in a complaint HUGGING WITHOUT CONSENT!! SPEAKING THE TRUTH! 100.”
Adams responded: “It is true Binge cancelled her trip to New Zealand (didn’t she say her house flooded or something?) but it wasn’t because of HR complaint by me … lying as she goes down the drain.”
Regarding the Ultime Girls’ Trip spin off, Confidential can’t wait.
It would explain why Real Housewives of Melbourne’s Jackie Gillies was brought in for the Sydney season and appeared in the reunion episode.
We can only imagine where the trip will be – perhaps a road trip from Melbourne to Sydney with a couple of days stopover in Albury Wodonga. Wouldn’t that be fun?
We can’t wait to see the socials from Gundagai’s Dog on the Tucker Box.
