While most eyes were on Taylor Swift’s royal guests at her London show overnight, diehard fans noticed one rather significant detail in the selfie that almost broke the internet: she had hard launched her relationship with Travis Kelce on Instagram.

The selfie Swift posted from the event featured Prince William and his kids, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, after they watched the pop star from the stands at Wembley Stadium during her Eras Tour, with William even busting out some dad moves.

But the famed photo also included her NFL star boyfriend – and it was the first time ever she had featured him on her Instagram grid.

Yes, Swift shared an awkward but endearing Instagram Story clip back in February of herself and her parents partying with her boyfriend after his team’s Superbowl win.

Still, she had not immortalised him on her grid until last night.

Coincidentally, night one of her three London shows fell on Prince William’s 42nd birthday, and she acknowledged this in her caption.

“Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start,” Swift captioned the selfie.

But it was Kelce’s presence that kicked off comments on social media.

“Hard launching your boyfriend on Instagram with the British royal family is INSANE,” wrote one fan on Twitter, while another tweeted, “Are you telling me the first time Travis is posted on Taylor’s social media, it’s with Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte?”

The Prince of Wales’ official Instagram account also shared this photo taken backstage at her London show.

Another fan took a clear dig a Swift’s British ex, Joe Alwyn, who she split from last year before dating the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.

“Imagine breaking up with your British boyfriend and then posting a selfie with your American boyfriend with the future king of England hahahaha,” commented another fan.

Others are convinced Swift timed her relationship hard launch perfectly.

“And [the royals] took a pic without him but she posted the one with him,” another user pointed out on Twitter, while another agreed: “Making your relationship IG/Twitter official from a LONDON show, is so comical…WITH the Royal family, oh this was so thought out. Sorry Tay, I underestimated your game.”

Swift and Kelce first sparked dating rumours in September after the superstar singer was spotted attending several of his NFL games in between tour dates.

He has returned the favour, also being by Swift’s side as she toured the world. He has attended her shows in Australia, Paris, Singapore and now London.

The London gig was a family affair, as Kelce’s brother Jason and his wife Kylie also showed their support from a VIP tent.
