Taylor Swift fans advised against attending concert without a ticket

Taylor Swift fans without tickets to her Eras tour are hatching a plan that officials are advising against.

Ticketless fans vow to attend Taylor Swift concerts in Sydney

Fans of music icon Taylor Swift who missed out on tickets to her Australian Eras Tour have been advised against trying to tailgate her concerts.

During Swift’s US tour, many fans who couldn’t get tickets began gathered outside the venue before, during or after the concerts event – a practice known as tailgating.

Fans across Australia have been thinking of doing the same for the star’s seven concerts in Sydney and Melbourne next month.

While Sydney’s Accor Stadium is preparing for large crowds in the area, they are encouraging only those who have purchased a ticket to attend.

“We want to ensure the best experience for all which is why only fans with a valid ticket should attend the precinct on show nights,” a spokesman said.

Adelaide-based Swiftie Rhianna Hilditch told The Daily Telegraph, that while she has tickets for some concerts, she’d be “Taylor-gating” for all of the others.

“We want to listen to her as much as we can, so we are just going to stand outside every night we can,” she said.

On Facebook, several groups based around tailgating Swift’s concerts have between hundreds and thousands of members.

Swift will perform three concerts in Melbourne from February 16 to 18, and four in Sydney from February 23 to 26.

Accor Stadium said while the venue is open-roofed, it is also enclosed from the outside.

Bystanders without tickets will have no ability to see inside the arena. This is also the case Swift’s Melbourne venue, the MCG.

While outsiders can hear sound from inside the venue, the sound quality is different and lesser as a result.

“To avoid disappointment, only fans with a ticket to the event are encouraged to attend on the night of their respective show,” an Accor spokesperson said.

Swift won’t be the only musician performing in the precinct at the time.

Blink 182 is performing on the same nights in the neighbouring Qudos Bank Arena, on two of the nights.

Meanwhile. ticketholders are being encouraged to arrive early. The cost of public transport is included for those who purchased valid tickets.
