Rapper Drake touches down in Sydney on mega jumbo jet

That ain’t a jet, this is a jet … A huge rapper has touched down in Sydney in a truly gargantuan private plane ahead of four back-to-back concerts.

Drake's massive private jet lands in Sydney

Drake has made a grand entrance in Sydney, touching down on a jumbo private jet.

The Canadian rapper, 38, arrived in the harbour city Friday morning via Melbourne as he continues on his Australian tour.

The Grammy winner and his large entourage landed on a giant Boeing 757-23A, with the aircraft registered to a Bank of Utah Trustee.

It doesn’t appear to be the same plane as the hip hop artist’s iconic 757, dubbed ‘Air Drake’, a $292 million jet which was gifted to Drake as part of a promotional partnership with Cargojet. He’s currently redesigning that aircraft with a space theme in mind.

To put into context the sheer size of Drake’s jet, one of Taylor Swift’s planes, which famously ferried boyfriend Travis Kelce to Sydney for her Eras Tour February last year, was a much more modest Bombardier Global 6000.

Drake is renowned for his high-flying, wealth-flaunting lifestyle.

Amid his two-week stint in Australia, the God’s Plan singer gave his 143 million Instagram followers a glimpse into his luxurious $25,000 per night Crown Melbourne presidential villa.

Also during his stay, he appeared to claim he won $700,000 at the casino in a post on his Instagram stories. A Crown spokesperson declined to comment when approached by news.com.au.

More recently, at his concert at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on Wednesday night, Drake gave $50,000 to a pregnant concertgoer who had asked the rapper via a sign to reveal the gender of her unborn child onstage.

His visit down under coincided with Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show on Monday, in which the rapper performed his savage Grammy-winning Drake diss track, Not Like Us, in a performance that even featured a cameo from Drake’s ex Serena Williams.

While he’s yet to address what was dubbed a global “humiliation”, with millions around the world tuning into the NFL final, Drake did subtly change the lyrics to his song Knife Talk during his show in Melbourne following the Super Bowl.

The original lyrics, “Beef is live, spoiler alert, this n**** a dies” were altered to “Beef is live, spoiler alert — I never died.”

Drake is set to perform four back-to-back shows at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena from Sunday night, before heading to Brisbane for three shows from February 24.

He’ll then return to Sydney for one more concert at Qudos Bank Arena on March 7 before flying to New Zealand.
