US PUNK band The Story So Far has been banned from a live music venue in Toronto after their lead singer fly-kicked a woman off stage while she tried to take a selfie.
The incident took place during the band’s gig at Toronto’s Mod Club on Sunday night, and a video of the moment has been viewed more than 519,000 times.
In the video, a woman can be seen jumping up on stage while the band plays the intro to their next song. She holds her phone up to take a selfie while she faces the crowd. As she fiddles with her phone, the band’s frontman, Parker Cannon, sees her, comes up behind her, jumps in the air and kicks her. She goes flying into the crowd. The audience cheers and Cannon continues dancing.
Moments later, other people can be seen jumping on the stage and jumping into the crowd, but they don’t cop a fly-kick.
The club’s general manager Jorge Dias said in a statement the band will not be welcomed back.
“On behalf of the venue we are appalled by the actions of the singer and do not condone these actions by anyone,” he said. “There was no report of injuries and the venue will not allow the band to play the venue again for their actions. I have never imagined and never seen anything like that at the venue in 14 years in operation. That was a very cowardly act.”
The moment can be found around the 30 second mark in the video below.
