However, just weeks head of the tour beginning, the group have announced its cancellation “due to unforeseen circumstances”.

In a message to their Australian and New Zealand fans, TLC expressed their regret at the last minute cancellation, stating, “To our incredible Australian and New Zealand fans, with heavy hearts, we regret to announce the cancellation of our upcoming tour. Unforeseen circumstances have made it impossible to proceed, and we sincerely apologise for any disappointment.

The group went on to share their hopes to return to Australia “soon”, adding: “Your support means everything, and we promise to make it up to you. We can’t wait to be back in your beautiful countries soon. Thank you for your understanding and love.”

The highly anticipated tour had been arranged to mark the 30th anniversary of its album CrazySexyCool.

Fans rushed to share their dismay over the news, with some speculating that the tour hadn’t sold well enough “due to the ticket prices”.

One replied: “Unforseen circumstances = lack of ticket sales. If they hadn’t have brought En Vogue and Busta and charged a regular price … it would have sold better.”

Another echoed the same sentiment, saying: “There are massive acts who are smashing the charts today who charge less.”

Others shared their concern for the group amid the shock cancellation, with one fan replying: “I’m absolutely gutted but hope everyone is OK!” with another adding: “We love you all. Take care and hopefully see you again real soon!!!!”

The tour was originally slated to commence on February 29 at Trusts Arena in Auckland, with the grand finale scheduled for March 9 at RAC Arena in Perth.

The announcement clarified that all purchased tickets would receive a full refund. Ticket costs will be automatically refunded to the original payment method used for purchase, and ticket buyers do not need to take any action.

The group last performed in Australia in November 2022 as part of Fridayz Live, joining a line-up of artists including Macklemore, Akon, Ashanti, Craig David and more for the event’s return after a two-year absence.
