Jurassic Park actor Sam Neill made a surprising admission on radio this morning, confessing to being “completely baffled” on the set of Thor.
Speaking to Nova’s Fitzy, Wippa and Sarah McGilvray, the Kiwi actor was asked about his role in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder film, in which he stars as a fake version of Anthony Hopkins’ character Odin, who is Thor’s dad.
It’s the same character Neill played in Thor: Ragnarok for one small scene in which Loki (disguised as Anthony Hopkins’ Odin) puts on a play about his own supposed death from the previous film.

If that still sounds confusing to you, you’re not the only one.
“I’ve never understood any of the Thor films, in fact the whole Marvel universe is a complete mystery to me,” Neill said today.
“I mean I was standing beside Jenny Morris (on the set of Thor: Ragnarok) and I said, ‘Do you know what planet we’re on?” To be honest I was completely baffled, I came back I was baffled again, I did my bit, I don’t know who are playing who exactly because they are sort of swapping roles.”
When McGilvray chimed in to explain he is “the fake version of Thor’s dad,” Neill exclaimed: “What? I wish someone had told me that, that’s so much easier!”

Neill joins a bursting cast for the upcoming Thor film directed by Taika Waititi.

Global cast enjoying life Down Under
The international stars of the film have been living it up in Australia over the past few months.
In viral photos that circulated last week, the film’s director Taika Waititi was spotted cuddling up and kissing both girlfriend Rita Ora and Thor actress Tessa Thompson.
The Daily Mail has reported that the photos were taken at Waititi’s house after an all-night party.
And in March, an assortment of Marvel superstars were spotted at an NRL match between the Sydney Roosters and South Sydney Rabbitohs in Homebush.
Chris Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Natalie Portman and Taika Waititi were watching on from Russell Crowe’s box at Stadium Australia, barracking for the Bunnies in the Sydney derby.
Hemsworth was also seen going behind the scenes inside the Rabbitohs’ dressing rooms after the game, joining in with the celebrations.
