Hollywood star Rebecca Hall has been mercilessly mocked on social media after she opened up about the bizarre way she chose to celebrate her wedding day.

Known as one of the most acclaimed actresses of her generation, Hall is the daughter of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s founder Sir Peter Hall.

In a new interview, she’s shared details of her wedding day to fellow actor Morgan Spector.

When Hall and Spector decided to finally get married, they were set on experiencing an altogether different kind of wedding day.

In an interview with The Guardian that has since gone viral on social media, Hall shared details of their unorthodox day, revealing that nothing was planned and sharing some incredibly bizarre details about the antics of some of their closest pals.

They came up with the idea of, “bring your own wedding, like bring your own bottle? We’re just going to gather in a house and we’re going to eat and drink and dance and have fun. And if at any point anyone wants to marry us,” if anybody wants to perform a ceremony, “please do.”

She went on to reveal that actor Dan Stevens marked the day with a candlelit ceremony in front of a “blood moon”.

“One friend, artist Rob Roth, leapt out of the shrubbery dressed as a werewolf and sang, ‘If a double-decker bus / crashes into us…’ Another, the actor Dan Stevens, called everybody out to the pond as a blood moon was rising and gave them a candle to hold.

“He was like, ‘OK, this is my thing,’ and he made Morgan and I stand way up, high over there, while everyone else was on the other side of the water, and said, ‘I just want you to have an experience of seeing us, your community.’”

“It was about saying, ‘This is our world, these are our people and we will define ourselves exactly how we want to’.”

A viral tweet featuring Hall’s remarks has been shared thousands of times on Twitter, with many mocking the actresses big day.

“Rebecca Hall on her wedding,” read the viral tweet. “I’d rather work night shifts in Asda [a British supermarket] than live like this.”

“I am so tired of these upper middle class creatives and their tedious insistence that they’re extraordinary,” remarked another.

A third joked: “That’s like telling Chat GPT to describe what a wedding isn’t,” while a fourth commented: “I like her but this is insufferable!”

“Is this Peter Hall’s daughter? If so, what on earth went wrong?” wrote another.

In the same interview, Hall has also faced criticism over her decision to express regret over her previous public apology for working with director Woody Allen.

“I don’t talk to him any more, but I don’t think that we should be the ones who are doing judge and jury on this,” she said.

Allan has had sexual assault allegations levelled against him by his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow, 38, claims of which he vehemently denies.
