‘Most beautiful thing in the world’: Renee Bargh embraces her bump, but it hasn’t been any easy ride

Pregnancy the second time round hasn’t been an easy ride for TV host Renee Bargh, but despite the challenges, she says it will all be worth it.

Mothers life-threatening condition saved by pregnancy

Pregnancy the second time round hasn’t been an easy ride for TV host Renee Bargh.

All smiles as the 38-year-old posed for The Daily Telegraph, the mum of one-year-old son Tide said her soon-to-be born daughter had been a bit more difficult.

“With my son I was quite unwell but with her, I have been 10 times worse. I was throwing up multiple times a day for 18 weeks straight, just really, really sick,” Bargh said.

“Everything just feels a little bit harder, but it’ll be worth it.”

Despite the sickness, Bargh has enjoyed her changing body.

“I’ve always found a pregnant belly to be just the most beautiful thing in the world. It was never anything that I thought should be hidden away, but it was really cool to be pregnant at a time where people were embracing it and I just lent straight into that,” she said.

“Being pregnant is probably the most confident I’ve ever felt. There’s just something really liberating about not caring … I’ve really loved it, and I have had a lot of fun with fashion and just embracing it is really beautiful.

“You can kind of look at it as a beautiful accessory and something that you can kind of use to elevate your outfit, rather than trying to hide it. I always found it more flattering if I wore something tighter than trying to wear something baggy.”

Entering her third trimester, Bargh’s busy work schedule — juggling early mornings on television and caring for a toddler — leaves little time for self-care.

“Pregnancy is a lot harder than it looks, I definitely don’t feel like I do it well. I recently said to my partner (Andrew Lange), I need you to really push me to do 20 minutes of exercise and my 20 minutes of meditation every day because I’ve barely done anything (exercise).

“You actually don’t really ever have time off as a mum, it just doesn’t stop.”

Bargh was also recently appointed as a ‘Friend of David Jones’ and will appear in seasonal campaigns for the retailer.
