“Those types of people leave a lasting impact on you,” Scott told Saturday Confidential.
“They just do.
“He was so larger than life and took up a lot of space in people’s hearts, especially mine because I did know him for a really long time.
“I first met him in London and that was 20 or so years ago. I was a baby and I was new to the world of modelling and he was a bit of a mentor.
“We dated for a short time then always remained friends.”
Scott, who attended her first Coldplay concert with Warne in London when they were dating, said she was so happy to see Warne’s young children, Brooke, 26, Jackson, 24 and Summer, 20 attend the band’s show in Perth earlier this week.
It was there good friend and frontman Chris Martin spontaneously read an emotional tribute to Warne.
“Friends come, friends go / There are some people you’re just lucky to know. If I could, I’d do it all again / Thanks for everything, Shane,” sung Martin.
Scott praised Warne’s devotion to his children.
“He has left such a beautiful mark with his kids,” she said.
“I saw they all attended the recent Coldplay concert. And knowing how much Shane is obsessed with Coldplay and Chris Martin, it was just so great to see them there.”
Like most Australians, Scott remembers exactly where she was when news of Warnie’s death broke on March 4.
“I remember my mum calling me and she was upset and crying and I was crying,” Scott said.
“It was just so sad.”
