She’s the niece of Aussie acting royalty Nicole Kidman, but Lucia Hawley has just secured her own place on the red carpet, as the new face of Live From E!, hosting red carpets from across the country for the new 7Bravo.
No doubt she’ll be gunning for exclusives with her famous aunty, but the 24-year-old daughter of Antonia Kidman, who is virtually her mother’s double, is no nepo-baby.
Hawley may have been born into a glamorous world of celebrity but she has worked her way into her “dream job”.
“I’ve been working towards this,” Hawley told The Sunday Telegraph.
“Having a mum who had been in the industry, through osmosis you gain that perspective and understanding and I think that’s been one of the biggest things that has helped in preparing me for this role, just having watched her and how she has carried herself through everything.
“I am obsessed with fashion, and this is honestly like a dream come true. I always wanted to present and red carpets are naturally what I gravitate towards, so it came about pretty serendipitously.
“I’m Bravo obsessed and obsessed with E! Entertainment, so it’s almost like two worlds colliding and it’s such a pinch-me moment.”
Hawley has already hosted the ARIAS and the Logies, and says nerves don’t even come into the scenario because all things celebrity and fashion is what she consumes daily.
“And I can appeal to the consumer of that, generally, because I’m such a fan of shows like The Real Housewives — I’ve watched every single season — so when I got the job I was like, guys, you don’t even have to pay me to do this,” she said.
And if nerves do set in, at least Hawley has the perfect people to go to for advice.
“I am so lucky to have them both (mum and aunt) as role models — not only are they amazing at their jobs, but they also have a really strong sense of self and are very intellectual as well.”
And her famous family’s advice?
“Just be enthusiastic — positivity attracts positivity.”
