Larry Emdur came through with his bold pre-Logies promise, taking his kit off to get a bum tattoo live on-air Monday morning.

Larry Emdur is a man of his word.

The Gold Logie winner told news.com.au last week that if he won the coveted top award he’d get his “arse tattooed” with his fellow nominees’ initials live on Seven's The Morning Show.

His outrageous pledge stemmed from Emdur’s genuine lack of confidence he would win, with his nomination also marking his first ever Logie nomination, despite four decades on the silver screen.

And after sensationally taking home the trophy Sunday night, Bondi Ink tattooist Zach was awaiting Emdur in the studio Monday morning, where Emdur dropped his pants and sprawled face first on a tattoo bed to officially get inked on live TV.

Co-host Kylie Gillies was in stitches during the segment, urging the tattooist to reposition Emdur’s tattoo placement, “It’s too close to your crack.”

As Zach went in with his tattoo gun, Gillies provided some intense live commentary, “He’s actually shaking.”

She added, “So it’s not a joke?”

Emdur, who was struggling to string a sentence together at various points, said, “I think I’m more worried about … Where’s Zach’s thumb?” he joked, the buzzing of the tattoo gun heard faintly in the background.

“Ooh. Oooooh,” he continued.

After about half an hour under the needle, Emdur showed off the finished product to viewers. The design featured the shape of a Logie trophy with the nominees’ initials engraved on it – including Asher Keddie, Andy Lee, Sonia Kruger, Tony Armstrong, Robert Irwin and Julia Morris.

“I love this tattoo. This for me will remind me forever of a beautiful night,” Emdur said.

The 59-year-old veteran, who first presented the overnight news for Channel 7 when he was just 19, finished off a long Logies ceremony with a bang, delivering a hilarious speech.

Most memorably, he shared some advice his father had given him when he started out in the industry: Just be nice to everyone.

Emdur’s response? “Dad, I’m trying but there’s so many arseholes in this business. Like, so many … ”

Meanwhile, Emdur’s wife Sylvie told news.com.au at the Logies that her husband already had a tattoo on one bum cheek, and she was eager to see him get another.
