SAS: Arabella Del Busso grilled over pregnancy lie

Wests Tigers player Josh Reynolds has taken a swipe at ex-girlfriend Arabella Del Busso after she tried to downplay a fake ultrasound scandal.

Del Busso — who admitted to showing Reynolds fake ultrasound photos during their relationship — has been slammed on social media after describing the shocking deceit as “a little white lie” during her stint on SAS Australia.

After her remarks Reynolds shared a cryptic post on Instagram.

“White lies are sweet right,” the NRL star wrote alongside a baby emoji.

Del Busso, 29, has disabled her Instagram comments after vicious trolling about her appearance on the show.

The lingerie model was grilled about claims that she faked three pregnancies during Tuesday night’s episode of SAS Australia.

“I have you know told a lie but the way that I see it, a little white lie here or there is not going to hurt anyone,” she said in a piece-to-camera.

“I’m sure we all do it. I’m honestly not the only person in the whole of Australia that has told a white lie here or there.”

Reynolds, 30, and Del Busso, who split last year, first met on Instagram which led to a one-night stand and a month later she told him she was pregnant with twins.

She has admitted to showing him a fake ultrasound photo and she explained why she lied while being questioned on SAS.

“I told my partner that I had a pregnancy scare and I showed it to him and said it was ours when in fact it wasn’t our scan at all,” she said.

“Our relationship was kind of coming to and end and I didn’t know how to deal with like, losing someone because I feel like I’ve lost like, you know, family members and stuff.

“[It was] to try and draw him back in.”

Reynolds was falsely accused of assaulting Del Busso however charges were dropped in February.

He has since moved on with Wollongong mother-of-two Brittany Evans.

Del Busso, born Donna Preusker, became the latest celebrity to quit the popular Channel 7 show this week, joining the likes of publicist Roxy Jacenko and convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby.

The show, which has been a ratings hit for Channel 7 with 834,000 metro viewers tuning into the premiere, has sparked plenty of discussion online.

Meanwhile, former Wallaby Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins has been labelled “a bit reckless” after crash tackling Commonwealth Games swimmer Shayna Jack.

Competing on opposing teams in an SAS Australia reality show challenge called Murderball, Cummins controversially slammed 21-year-old Jack to the muddy ground as he attempted to gain control of a car tyre.

“You can’t fault him for his commitment, sometimes a bit reckless where he goes in full steam ahead and taken his foot off the gas when he’s gone through the wall,” SAS Chief Instructor Ant Middleton said.

Jack measures 180cm tall and weighs 69kg compared to Cummins at 188cm in height and weighing 96 kgs.

Returning to their SAS shack accommodation, Jack collapsed thinking she had a broken rib before being checked over by a medic.

With no broken bones, the doctor told her she took “a cracker of a hit” and that she was exhausted and dehydrated.

“She got absolutely poleaxed and cracked on with it,” Middleton said of Jack pushing through. “She’s gone from no one noticing her to effort of the day.”

Earlier before the confronting scene played out, 33-year-old Cummins said: “I am most fearful of what is going to come out of me during the most strenuous and stressful times.”

The series sees contestants put through their paces attempting to complete gruelling Special Forces training.

A day prior in the first episode of the Channel 7 show, Cummins faced off against AFLW player Sabrina Frederick in a bout of boxing in what could be one of the most controversial scenes to play out on reality television in Australia to date.

“I was scared but that’s the whole point of SAS selection – not letting the fear consume you and instead harnessing it to empower you,” Fredericks said about the scene. “I am truly grateful for Nick and for that experience.”

Frederick and Cummins were the only male/female combination to fight while others to face off included Erin McNaught and Jack, Eden Dally and James Magnussen and Merrick Watts and Mitchell Johnson.

Social media has been divided over the controversial scenes, with many critical of the former rugby player’s aggressive tactics.

Middleton defended the decision to allow Frederick and Cummins to fight each other.

The same male/female combat situation played out in the UK version, SAS: Who Dares Wins, where 29-year-old midwife Louise Gabbitas was hit in the head by 27-year-old male student Nathaniel.

“All combat roles, including the SAS, are now open to everyone, male and female alike. The selection process remains exactly the same, regardless of gender. There is no special treatment,” he said. “You cannot choose your enemy and the enemy doesn’t care who you are. We are looking for individuals who can do the job. The hand-to-hand combat task was the ultimate test of character and bravery. Sabrina had the luxury of choosing her enemy and she chose a tough opponent, showing true strength of character and how much she wanted to test herself and get the absolute most out of this experience. Nick did exactly what was asked of him. They both held a good and correct account of themselves. SAS Australia is the closest thing there is to the real selection process. Standards will not be dropped. It really is that simple.”
