Glamour model Arabella del Busso has signed up for a stint on reality TV claiming she wants to find love and shake off the public perception of her as a “con artist”.

The 30-year-old was this year at the centre of a fake pregnancy scandal involving her rugby league player ex boyfriend Josh Reynolds.

But she now says she is craving a genuine family of her own.

Del Busso has never been charged with any wrongdoing.

“I want to find love and I want to settle down and have kids and have my own family,” Del Busso told Confidential. “I didn’t have that as a child so I want to give my kids something that I never had in life.”

Del Busso is one of 17 familiar and not so familiar faces to appear in upcoming Channel 7 reality show, SAS Australia, where contestants are put through their paces attempting to pass the gruelling Special Forces selection course.

The show, she explained, is an opportunity to clear the air after recent scandals.

“I feel like Australia pretty much thinks that I am a con artist, a catfish and a psycho,” she said. “They are the three words, it is just horrible. What have I got to lose? In all honesty, I just want Australia to know and see me as the person that I actually am and to prove, not just to everyone but to myself, that no matter what happens in life, I am strong and I am resilient. I have got a good heart and it has hurt me because I know that I am far from an evil person. It was just unfortunate that my relationship was in the public eye. I want people to know that I am human and that we all make mistakes.”

Domestic violence charges against Wests Tigers player Reynolds were dropped earlier this year while an Interim apprehended violence order that was placed on him by Victorian Police in March remains.

Del Busso says she has admitted to her part in the relationship breakdown.

“I have openly admitted that I showed him (Reynolds) a fake pregnancy scan that wasn’t ours,” she declared. “In regards to the pregnancies, one of them was fake but the other two weren’t. I guess we were at our wits end and I didn’t know what to do. Also my upbringing, the childhood that I had was not the best and I guess you are kind of looking for that love … I think I got to the stage where I was looking for that person to love and to get that love in return. I guess it was a tactic or mechanism for myself to keep him and it blew up in my face.”

Also among those competing on SAS Australia when it premieres on October 19 are Candice Warner, James Magnussen, Mitchell Johnson, Schapelle Corby, Shayna Jack, Jackson Warne, Firass Dirani and Erin McNaught.
