Aussie country star Troy Cassar-Daley has done it again.
The singer already boasts a collection of 40 Golden Guitar Awards but could be due to expand his sizeable trophy cabinet in 2025 after being nominated for an additional six awards.
Still chuffed with his nominations for country music’s night of night’s, which includes Male Artist Of The Year and Song Of The Year, the 55-year-old said the thrill hadn’t worn off yet.
“What Tamworth has given me over the years has been such a treat. Even 40 golden guitars down the road, I feel like a guts but I honestly feel honoured and it never gets old,” Cassar-Daley told Confidential.
“It always really surprises me, I felt like I didn’t have anything to say for a while.”
While it’s hard to choose a favourite, Cassar-Daley claims his very first award presented by Slim Dusty in 1996 sticks out all these years later.
“That’s the memory of all memories, and to hear the excitement in his voice when he said my name, I’ll never forget. I sometimes watch the footage back just to remind me of my history with this festival,” he said.
Other big name nominees vying for honours at the Tamworth Music Festival on January 25 include Kasey Chambers, Lee Kernaghan, Kingswood, and Colin Buchanan, set to challenge Cassar-Daley for top honours.
