Former AFL player Mitch Hibberd splits from Love Island beauty Tina Provis

After a whirlwind romance on reality TV, Love Island winners Mitch Hibberd and Tina Provis have shared some devastating news.

Former AFL player Mitch Hibberd and his partner Tina Provis have called it quits.

The Love Island winners both posted about the shock break up on Tuesday, saying they are heartbroken and shattered they couldn’t make their relationship work.

Hibberd played for Essendon and North Melbourne before injury cut his career short.

He said the pair decided to make the emotional move to end their relationship.

“It’s obviously extremely shattering and a very emotional time for both of us,’’ he wrote.

“We shared an experience that I will never forget and we both have agreed to still stay in contact and be in each other’s lives as best as we possibly can.

“I am Tina’s biggest support and always will be. She is such an amazing person who I could not speak more highly of.”

Tina Provis and Mitch Hibberd have called it quits.

Provis said she wanted to deal with the situation in private but realised she has been living a public life.

“It’s with a very sad, heavy heart that I tell you guys, Mitch and I are no longer together,’’ she wrote.

“I’m so devastated to be sharing this news with you and I am still processing the situation. Sadly, this was not our time and we agreed that the best decision for us right now is to part ways.”

She added that the pair didn’t align.

“I would be lying if I didn’t admit I am feeling heartbroken that things haven’t worked out for us. It was such an amazing relationship and I still care so much for Mitch.”

Before going on the show, Hibberd who was raised in Tasmania and now lives in Melbourne, said he had never had a girlfriend.

“I’ve always said I would never jump into anything because I had to be 100 per cent certain.

“I will probably have one girlfriend my whole life and that will be someone I will marry and have kids with.”
