Erin McNaught slams Roxy for SAS Australia appearance

Former Miss Universe Australia Erin McNaught has little sympathy for her SAS Australia castmate Roxy Jacenko, saying the publicist should have known what she was in for.

Model mum Erin McNaught has issued a sensational smackdown to publicist Roxy Jacenko after her performance on reality show SAS Australia.

Jacenko was widely criticised for quitting the series just six hours in and after refusing to fight former friend and client Candice Warner.

“You know what you are signing up for and if you don’t you probably should have done a bit more research,” McNaught told The Morning Show’s Kylie Gillies and Larry Emdur.

The pair fell out monumentally after the challenge with the publicist launching a war of words on the wife of Australian cricketer David Warner.
Reports have claimed Warner has consulted lawyers over the friendship breakdown.

“I don’t know their friendship, I have no idea abou that,” McNaught said, careful with her words. “All I do know if that we were told to fight and Roxy didn’t fight. Just because someone is your friend … Candice was in a tough position, she had to do what she had to do and Roxy chose to not engage and as a result she decided to leave the show.”

McNaught, 38, noted Jacenko “was in a lot of pain” after fracturing her pelvis weeks before the show began filming.

The former Miss Universe Australia said she signed up to the show to prove to herself she had the strength of mind and physicality to complete the challenge.

In SAS Australia, contestants are put through their paces in a gruelling Special Forces selection course.

“I don’t have to prove what I look like to anyone, I wanted to prove how strong physically and mentally I could be,” she said, admitting she had her lashes done before production started.

The show also stars AFLW star Sabrina Frederick, swimmers Shayna Jack and James Magnussen, retired cricketer Mitchell Johnson and rugby player turned Bachelor star Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins.

Asked to choose who she would not bring back to compete on the challenge with her from the group if given another chance, she named actor Firass Dirani.

“Firass, you are not a team player mate,” she said. “He just didn’t quite get the whole team thing. He wanted to challenge himself but I think he didn’t quite see that aspect.”
