GREEN and red — for South Sydney, not Christmas — filled Sydney Airport on Wednesday morning, as members of the team flew to Melbourne to celebrate Sam Burgess’ bucks party.
Ahead of his wedding to his fiancee, freelance writer Phoebe Hooke, the re-signed South Sydney star and his nearest and dearest — including his brothers George, Tom and Luke and former Rabbitohs captain John Sutton — were headed to the Crown Casino for the festivities. Hook has also celebrated the end of her singledom this week, with a classy daytime party at Woolloomooloo’s China Doll.
The couple are set to tie the knot in Sydney over the next week.
Burgess’ two-year-old niece Grace, daughter of big brother Luke and model Yolanda Hodgson, is expected to be flower girl, and his three siblings are thought to be enlisted as groomsmen for the post-Christmas wedding.
Burgess and Hooke met at an Avicii concert in 2014, and Burgess proposed just a year later while on holiday in Greece.
