Chris Hemsworth and family play beach cricket with Taika Waititi in Byron
Chris Hemsworth ably assisted in the field despite having a bandaged ankle while playing some beach cricket with family and friends over the long weekend.

It looks like Chris Hemsworth had the same idea as many thousands of other Australians over the long weekend – only his beach was all but deserted.
The Hollywood superstar looked like any other bloke on the beach as he was photographed playing cricket on the sand at Lennox Head not far from his Byron Bay home.
It was a Hemsworth family affair with actor brothers Luke and Liam getting in on the action.
Chris however appeared to exercise some caution as he wore a black compression bandage on his right ankle.
New Zealand director Taika Waititi also enjoyed the sunny day out at the beach after completing 14 days quarantine.
Waititi and Hemworth will soon begin shooting Thor: Love and Thunder in Queensland.

Byron Bay has become somewhat of a mini-Hollywood with productions in the United States due to the coronavirus pandemic. Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy and Bobby Cannavale are filming TV series Nine Perfect Strangers there, while Luke Hemsworth has just wrapped Aussie film, Bosch & Rockit. Cody Fern and Keiynan Lonsdale meanwhile have been shooting a television drama called Eden.
