Stars of the big screen have hit the red carpet for the 95th Oscars, with Lady Gaga stealing the spotlight in a wild sheer gown.

Lights, couture, cut … That’s a wrap on Oscars day for another year.

The 95th annual Academy Awards took place today, with Hollywood glitterati having graced the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles to celebrate the best in show business over the past year.

Everything Everywhere All At Once led the race, winning 7 of its 11 nominations including the pinnacle Best Picture prize.

But tinsel town’s night of nights is as much about the glamorous gowns as it is the gold statues.

And who else but Lady Gaga to steal the style spotlight?

The singer-turned-actress, who performed her nominated song Hold My Hand at the ceremony, stepped out in a breathtaking, sheer Versace gown:

In a break from tradition, the Academy ditched its red carpet for the first time since 1961, replacing it with a champagne-coloured carpet, much to the dismay of Jamie-Lee Curtis.

She took to Twitter to say, “Apparently at the Oscars, their carpet is going to match my drapes.”

Australian actress Cate Blanchett missed out on her third Oscar win, with Everything Everywhere All At Once star Michelle Yeoh taking home the gold.

Meanwhile, Fraser edged out Elvis’ Austin Butler to take home Best Actor for The Whale.
