The High School Musical star, 34, confirmed engagement rumours with the US baseball player on Instagram Friday morning, sharing a photo of the sizeable sparkler on her finger.

“YES. We couldn’t be happier,” Hudgens captioned photos from the proposal, which seemingly took place in Paris.

Hudgens shared a photo of the ring to Instagram.

It’s not known when the proposal took place, but sources told TMZ last month that the pair were taking their relationship to the next level after two years of dating.

The couple first sparked romance rumours in November 2020 after they were spotted holding hands in Los Angeles.

Hudgens revealed that she was the one who made the first move after meeting the Colorado Rockies baseball player, 26, during a Zoom meditation group call.

“I get on the Zoom, and I’m like, ‘Who is that?’” she said on The Drew Barrymore Show. “I found him, and we started talking.”

“If I want something or someone, I’m going after them. I fully just slid into his DMs and was like, ‘Hey, it was nice to meet you.’ So I think there is no shame in making the first move.”

The couple have been dating for two years.

Shortly after the pair started dating, they made their romance Instagram-official on Valentine’s Day.

“It’s you, it’s me, it’s us. @cotuck,” Hudgens captioned a photo kissing the MLB star.

Hudgens, who shot to fame on the Disney Channel movie back in 2006, was previously in a relationship with Elvis actor Austin Butler for nine years. The pair announced their shock split in early 2020.

Before that, she famously dated her HSM co-star Zac Efron for five years until 2010. She later told Shape long distance played a part in their relationship breakdown.

Hudgens and Efron dated for five years.

Hudgens also dated Austin Butler for nine years.

“Long-distance relationships are hard no matter what,” she said. “When you don’t have face-to-face time, it’s just different. Having an iPhone helped, but it just wasn’t the same.

“We grew up together... It was nice to have someone to share all of those experiences with.”
