Donald Trump: Meghan Markle was 'very disrespectful' to the Queen

King Charles III’s nickname for his daughter-in-law Meghan Markle has been revealed in a new bombshell-filled royal book.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl reveals in The New Royals that the British monarch called the Duchess of Sussex “Tungsten” because of her “toughness and resilience”.

Tungsten refers to a hard steel-grey metal of the third transition series that has the highest melting point of all metallic elements.

“Charles reportedly nicknamed his future daughter-in-law ‘Tungsten’ because of her toughness and resilience,” Nicholl wrote on Entertainment Tonight online.

The nickname was apparently born when the Suits alum showed resilience during her and Prince Harry’s 2018 appearance with Prince William and Kate Middleton at the Royal Foundation Forum.

“She was polished, passionate and funny, using all her TV-honed skills to present her case,” Ms Nicholl said.

“That was a wake-up moment for William and Kate when they realised that Meghan was very impressive, very confident and very capable, according to a source.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they would step down from their royal duties only two years later, causing a rift in the family.

It was recently reported that Prince Harry turned down Prince William’s efforts to reconcile back in 2019 out of concern the meeting would be leaked to the press.

The rift became more apparent at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral when the Sussexes were seated away from the Wales, with their kids separating them.

However, the two couples publicly reunited to thank the crowds that gathered outside Windsor Castle to mourn the Queen.

PRINCE HARRY ON HIGH-PROFILE LIST SUING DAILY MAIL

A number of high-profile public figures, including Prince Harry and Elton John are suing the Daily Mail publisher over alleged incidents of phone-tapping and privacy breaches.

The law firm, Hamlins, who is acting on behalf of the Duke of Sussex, released a statement on Thursday outlining the alleged breaches of privacy to be investigated.

They said the allegations included the publisher hiring private detectives to put recording devices in cars and homes, bugging phone calls, paying police to divulge information and impersonating high profile people to access medical records.

ANL, the publisher of the Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday and the Mail Online, has denied the allegations.

“We utterly and unambiguously refute these preposterous smears, which appear to be nothing more than a pre-planned and orchestrated attempt to drag the Mail titles into the phone-hacking scandal concerning articles up to 30 years old,” a spokesperson for publisher told Al Jazeera.

This is not Prince Harry’s first lawsuit he has brought against Associated Newspapers’, with both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex initiating a number of cases following their wedding in 2018.

“I’ve been inundated in recent weeks with many documentary filmmakers and filmmaking companies keen to share my story,” he told 7 News on Thursday.

“I didn’t expect this to happen – but I’m glad it is. I’m considering their offers.

“Ultimately I would like to see my story on Netflix, or a similar streaming platform, and will approach them about doing so.”
