Brad Pitt has shut down explosive allegations made by his ex-wife Angelina Jolie that he physically assaulted her and their children during a tumultuous private jet flight in 2016.
Representatives for the actor told CNN the claims made in a new countersuit filed on October 4 are “completely untrue.”
Jolie alleges that Pitt “choked” one of his children and “grabbed” his then-wife by the head on their now infamous 2016 private plane flight, according to civil court documents obtained by The New York Post.
“(Jolie’s) story continues to evolve each time she tells it with new, unsubstantiated claims. Brad has accepted responsibility for what he did but will not for things he didn’t do,” Pitt’s representatives told CNN.
“These new allegations are completely untrue.”
A countersuit filed by Jolie, 47, on Tuesday, states that the Fight Club star, 58, allegedly “choked one of the children and struck another in the face” and “grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her.”
“At one point, he poured beer on Jolie; at another, he poured beer and red wine on the children,” the documents also claim.
Jolie allegedly tried to intervene at one point and “grabbed” her then-husband from behind to try to stop him, the countersuit alleges.
“To get Jolie off his back, Pitt threw himself backwards into the aeroplane’s seats, injuring Jolie’s back and elbow,” the documents allege.
“The children rushed in and all bravely tried to protect each other. Before it was over, Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face. Some of the children pleaded with Pitt to stop. They were all frightened. Many were crying.”
In September 2016, Pitt was under investigation for alleged child abuse by the FBI over the incident, The New York Post reports.
However, authorities did not pursue criminal charges against the Oscar-winning actor.
Pitt revealed in September 2019 that he got sober.
According to documents previously obtained by Page Six, a representative of the United States Attorney’s Office came to the conclusion to not prosecute Pitt based on discussions with the case agent.
The alleged dispute caused Jolie to file for divorce from Pitt just days later.
The former couple — who wed in 2014 after Pitt split from Jennifer Aniston — share Maddox, 21, Pax, 18, Zahara, 17, Shiloh, 16, Vivienne, 14, and Knox, 14.
