The short-lived marriage between Australian heart-throb Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus is done, with a Los Angeles court finalising their divorce.

The short-lived marriage between Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth has officially ended.

A Los Angeles judge has finalised the former couple’s divorce, with neither Hemsworth nor Cyrus seeking spousal support.

Australian-born Hemsworth filed for divorce in August, about eight months after he and Cyrus tied the knot in a break-up that shocked Hollywood.

Documents cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.

In a statement announcing their separation, Hemsworth and Cyrus said they were choosing to focus on themselves and their careers and would remain “dedicated parents to all of their animals they share”.

The Wrecking Ball singer and the Hunger Games actor spent sporadic stints as a couple for nearly a decade before they married in December 2018.

The day after Hemsworth filed for divorce, Cyrus denied on Twitter that her infidelity was the reason.

“I can admit to a lot of things but I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating,” Cyrus said in one of a series of tweets.

“Liam and I have been together for a decade. I’ve said it before & it remains true, I love Liam and always will.”

Hemsworth is now dating Australian model Gabriella Brooks, while Cyrus has been in a much-publicised relationship with Cody Simpson.

Cyrus, 27, announced her marriage to Australian heart-throb Hemsworth, 30, was over in August, after a ten-year on/off romance (they are currently in the process of divorcing), and just eight months of marriage.

In a statement, the couple’s rep said at the time: “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time”.

“Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers.

“They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
