Finding Freedom reveals how feud between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton started

The explosive Finding Freedom book has revealed how Meghan and Kate got off on the wrong foot, leading to a tense relationship.

Finding Freedom: Juicy new book takes us inside the Meghan and Harry royal rift

Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton have been the subject of feud rumours for years.

The duchesses, along with their husbands Prince Harry and Prince William, were initially dubbed the “fab four” when they made their first appearance all together at the Royal Foundation Forum in early 2018.

But the “fab four” quickly fell flat and there were reports of tension behind the scenes, including that the Duchess of Sussex made the Duchess of Cambridge cry in the lead up to Meghan and Harry’s 2018 wedding.

Now the book Finding Freedom – which is making waves thanks to its many royal revelations – has shed light on why tensions have simmered in the first place.

Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle have been subject to incessant rumours they don’t get along.

Authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand claim the then Suits actress was brought to Kensington Palace to meet Prince William and Kate in November 2016, but that Kate had stayed behind at her Norfolk estate home with her children.

“Meghan was disappointed she didn’t get to meet Kate, who was with the children at Anmer Hall, the couple’s Norfolk estate home near Sandringham,” the book said.

“But having gotten along so well with Harry’s brother, she didn’t think much more about that. William had made his feelings known to his brother when he shared how happy he was to see Harry smiling.”

Meghan and Harry had been dating for five months at this point after being set up on a blind date.

Kate and Meghan eventually met in January 2017, where Meghan gifted the duchess a journal for her birthday.

But Harry revealed in his BBC interview with Meghan after their November 2017 engagement that his brother and Kate were “longing” to meet Meghan when they first heard about his new relationship.

“I’d been seeing her for a period of time when I – literally didn’t tell anybody at all. And then William was longing to meet her and so was Catherine,” Harry said.

“She’s been wonderful,” Meghan added about Kate.

Finding Freedom also dismissed the idea that the duchesses don’t get along.

“The truth was that Meghan and Kate just didn’t know each other that well,” the book reveals. It also added the pair weren’t able to spark up a stronger friendship given Meghan and Harry’s decision to quit royal life and move to the US.
