The former 2Day FM radio presenter has welcomed a baby boy, describing him as “totally gorgeous and practically perfect in every way”.

Former 2Day FM Breakfast radio host Em Rusciano has given birth to a baby boy, describing him as “totally gorgeous and practically perfect in every way”.

Rusciano made the announcement on her Instagram, sharing a photo of herself with her newborn son, Elio Arthur Rusciano-Barrow.

The 39-year-old first announced she was pregnant in August with a hilarious Little Miss Sunshine themed Instagram post.

“Let me tell you it’s a different ball game doing this at 39 to 21,” she wrote in the caption.

A month after revealing her pregnancy Rusciano made the shock announcement she was stepping away from her plum breakfast radio gig.

“The truth is when I found out I was pregnant, I made my mind up on the spot that this year would be my last year of breakfast radio,” she told listeners.

“I had intended to work through until December, but as my pregnancy is progressing I’m finding it increasingly harder to fulfil the requirements of my job. So after talking it through with my family, and my boss Gemma, it was decided that I should finish up.”

Rusciano’s departure came on the heels of rumoured turmoil behind the scenes and bad ratings for the embattled breakfast show.

Rusciano quit her breakfast show in September

Since leaving the breakfast show Rusciano has been keeping her fans up to date on her pregnancy, sharing photos of her baby bump and an ultrasound to Instagram.

“Straight up hottie! My son, those lips, that button nose, and the casual shoulder posing!” Rusciano captioned an ultrasound photo she shared last year.

Rusciano and her husband Scott Barrow already have two children, Marchella, 16, and Odette, 11.

In 2017, Rusciano suffered a devastating miscarriage, describing the loss in a Facebook post as the “most exquisite pain I can possibly fathom”.
