The secrets behind Jasmine Yarbrough’s jaw-dropping wedding dress have been revealed by the designer who created it.
Yarbrough stunned guests — not to mention the Australian public — when she tied the knot with Karl Stefanovic at a luxurious resort in Mexico wearing a daringly short wedding dress.
The dress was the creation of Jess Andreatta, of the label J. Andreatta, who told Vogue Australia she likes to “push the boundaries”.

The pair were introduced by Jasmine Yarbrough’s now sister-in-law Jenna Dinicola, who is married to Tom Stefanovic, Vogue says.
The bespoke gown, which featured soft blush tulle undertones and a detachable skirt, took six months to custom create, Vogue reports. Aztec motifs were beaded on the lace in a nod to the Mexican location.
Stefanovic was also no slouch when it came to fashion, wearing a Tom Ford suit, with RM Williams boots for an Australian touch.

Ahead of the ceremony, Mara & Mine co-founder Yarbrough told Vogue the design for the thigh-skimming dress took just two minutes to sketch.
“She’s on the same street as the Mara & Mine boutique in William Street, so I went to see her and took her my inspiration and she drew it in two minutes.”
Andreatta previously worked at Pallas Couture and opened her own boutique only in April this year. “I just love supporting someone who has gone out and done her own thing — it’s so brave,” said Yarbrough. “She is such a talent—it’s so rare for someone to be able to sketch. And we got on so well, too. I can just ring her up and talk to her.”
Andreatta told Vogue she and Stefanovic’s bride were in synch. “She wanted a newer designer, someone more like a friend,” the designer said.
“We’re around the same age and have the same sort of style.”

The wedding wasn’t Yarbrough’s first time wearing J. Andreatta — she has previously worn the designer for a friend’s wedding in Tuscany a few months ago. The theme for that wedding was Slim Aarons, the iconic American photographer famed for snapping socialites and celebrities in the 1960s.
“The dress she wore to that wedding was part of my debut collection,” Andreatta told Vogue.
She mentioned she was attending the wedding which was Slim Aarons themed, and I was working on that particular gold dress and said, ‘I think you should wear this,’” says Andreatta, thinking back. “And it turns out we were in Capri at the same time, so we met up for a drink, and I handed her the dress after shooting it for our campaign and she wore it to her friend’s wedding!”
Andreatta said she was inspired by “different fabrications”.
“She (Yarbrough) had an idea in mind of what she wanted and she showed me some references, and knowing the setting, we combined our ideas together and came up with the concept.”
