Meghan’s ‘insane death bed plan’ in Queen’s final hours

As the UK commemorates the first anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death, details have emerged of Meghan Markle’s unwelcome posturing in the monarch’s final hours.

Prince Harry threw carefully choreographed events to commemorate the first anniversary of the Queen’s death into disarray after he made a surprise visit to the late Monarch’s grave.

It comes as new details emerged of the “insane” plan by Meghan Markle to insert herself by the Queen’s deathbed in the final hours of her life.

The Duke of Sussex was photographed alone leaving St George’s Chapel, Windsor separately from official appearances from King Charles and Prince William elsewhere in the United Kingdom.

Buckingham Palace had been worried Prince Harry’s speech on the eve of the anniversary would upstage events to mark the year since the King’s ascension.

As the King was in Scotland to mark his mother’s death, Prince Harry appeared unannounced at the Queen’s grave in Windsor Castle just moments before Prince William and Catherine paid tribute at St Davids Cathedral in Wales.

The Duke of Sussex’s dishevelled appearance in a white shirt with no tie or formal jacket quickly went viral on social media after it was posted by X user @amygiles0188.

The Queen was laid to rest at St George’s Chapel, alongside Prince Philip, after her death last year. Prince Harry did not receive an invite to join the royal family for official events, and his solo visit in London is likely to further infuriate Prince William.

Friends of the Prince of Wales revealed before the anniversary how the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attempted to bypass the palace’s official decision over who was welcome to be by the Queen’s deathbed in her final hours.

“It was insane,” a Wales insider said of their errant behaviour.

“They had just spent two years slagging off the entire family and calling them racists. Harry had completely betrayed William, and he was holding the memoir [published after the queen’s death] and the Netflix series over them as well.

“They hadn’t exchanged a cordial word in months,” they added to The Daily Beast.

“And then he is texting him, saying, ‘Can we get a lift with you.’ I think if it had just been Harry, maybe a way could have been found. But Meghan too? Er, no thanks.”

Despite being denied a ride with the Royals as the Queen’s health catastrophically deteriorated, the Sussex camp announced they would both be travelling to Scotland for a final goodbye despite not receiving an official invitation to Balmoral Castle, as required by palace protocol.

“Kate, who had known the queen for decades, wouldn’t have dreamed of being there at her deathbed,” the friend said. “But for some reason, Meghan wanted to insert herself into it, so they tried to bounce the [future] king into accepting it by publicly announcing it.”

The move forced the hand of King Charles, who called Prince Harry to demand Meghan be left behind, just as Prince William was leaving Catherine in London to watch their children.
