Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s first public outing together in months saw the couple smiling, laughing and sharing whispers.
Now a lip reader has shared what they think was said between Britain’s most controversial royal couple.
The Sussexes were seated in one of the suites at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena for the Lakers-Grizzlies basketball game – but their presence was only detected when their faces were beamed onto huge stadium screens.
Photos and videos shared online show fans cheering with delight at the appearance of the California-based royal couple.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex turn and look at each other while Ms Markle giggled. Prince Harry appeared to try and kiss Ms Markle, but she appears to stop him by holding his arm while smiling widely.
At one point, Prince Harry has his arm around Ms Markle as she leans close and whispers something to him, while at other times they both cheered at the game and Ms Markle threw their arms in the air, while her husband cheered and clapped.
Lip reader Jeremy Freeman said it appears they could have been giving their verdict on their night out, The Mirror reports.
Freeman believes at the start of the clip, the Duchess tells the Duke “It’s brilliant” before he appears to say “yeah” as he nods in agreement.
And afterwards, Ms Markle adds: “Right it’s because it’s your favourite there” before the camera cuts to the action.
The Sussexes partied with their most trusted advisers and senior staff while several other celebrities were spotted sitting courtside at the game, including Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, and Adam Sandler.
The Duchess of Sussex, who has been out of the limelight in recent months, stunned in a pink linen Maxwell two-piece from California-based brand STAUD, which costs $A674 for the blazer and $A440 for the shorts.
She paired the look with a white top and beige suede heels and a Prada Bibliotheque leather chain clutch costing roughly $3185.
On Monday, Ms Markle debuted a sleek straightened hairstyle as she appeared via video link at her photographer friend Misan Harriman’s TED Talk – her first public appearance in several weeks.
Photographer and social activist Misan Harriman, who has photographed Ms Markle and her children, said on Instagram after her speech: “The Duchess of Sussex was kind enough to introduce me onto the stage for my TED Talk.
“Thank you for all the support Meg.”
It comes as speculation continues to run rampant about how Prince Harry will be treated by the royal family and the British public when he returns to the UK for King Charles’ Coronation at Westminster Abbey. The ceremony takes place on May 6 – the same day as he and Ms Markle’s son Archie’s fourth birthday.
Royal correspondent and author Omid Scobie – who is close to the couple – said this was a factor in the couple’s decision to be apart.
“Expect it to be a fairly quick trip to the UK for Prince Harry, who will only be attending the coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey,” he said.
