‘I had already hung up my wings’: Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr on why she said no to Victoria’s Secret return

She was Australia’s only Victoria’s Secret Angel – now Miranda Kerr has revealed what happened when the US lingerie giant asked her to return.

Exclusive: Miranda Kerr has revealed she turned down an offer to star in the recently rebooted Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

The Australian supermodel – who was famously a VS “Angel” – said she had no regrets about her long career with the controversial US lingerie giant.

Kerr, 40, is pregnant with her fourth child and was courted to appear in the new show, which was unveiled last week – dubbed “The Victoria’s Secret World Tour” – about “a year ago”, though she declined.

“When they were doing this [new] show, they were like, ‘Miranda, we’d love to have you back,” Kerr said.

“I felt like, I had already hung up my wings. I’m good. And then … I’m pregnant, so it all worked out.

“I just said, I’m flattered and honoured but my life was in a different direction, and I am really happy focusing on my business and my kids,” the KORA Organics founder said. “I hung up my wings. I feel proud of those days that I was working with them and I’d rather leave it at that.”

After premiering internationally on Amazon Prime Video last week (and in Australia via Instagram and TikTok), the rebooted VS Fashion Show was met with a lukewarm reaction, with many saying it fell flat and calling the revised format “confusing”.

It starred returning VS models Adriana Lima, Lily Aldridge and Gigi Hadid, with a more diverse line up – and the addition of social media “it” girls Hailey Bieber, Julia Fox and Emily Ratajkowski.

Kerr, who left Victoria’s Secret in 2013, said she had “such fond memories” of walking the runway for the retailer.

“Never would I have ever thought I would end up … a Victoria’s Secret Angel myself,” Kerr said.

“I ended up getting the job for a VS swimwear shoot and I met Gisele [Bundchen] and Adriana [Lima]. I remember thinking, they are stunning! What am I doing here? And it then, we became like a little family. It was a tight group of girls. The shows were really a lot of fun.”

Reflecting on her early modelling days, Kerr – who has become a beauty mogul in her own right, with her skincare brand KORA Organics – said there was “a lot of rejection” in modelling before her big break with Victoria’s Secret.

“I got into this rhythm of working six days a week, across two different countries, I just found that whatever it was, I would give it my all,” she said.

Kerr is expecting a baby boy with her husband, Snapchat billionaire Evan Spiegel, 33. The couple – who married in 2017 — are already parents to Hart, 5, and Myles, 3 – and Kerr shares son Flynn, 12, with her ex-husband, Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom.

Last month, she launched the latest product from her skincare line KORA Organics, Plant Stem Cell Retinol Alternative Moisturiser ($88).
