More than a year after they began dating, Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater have gone Instagram official while in Australia.

The US pop star and Broadway actor, who both attended the Wicked premiere in Sydney on Sunday, shared their first photo together on their respective social media accounts Monday.

For her part, Grande, 31, posted a carousel of photos from the movie’s glittering global debut at the city’s State Theatre, one of which included a sweet snap of Slater holding the train of her pastel pink gown as she walked down a flight of stairs.

“Sydney, you have stolen our hearts …,” Grande captioned the post.

Slater, 32, shared the same photo in his own carousel, writing, “Oz in oz. What an unbelievably magical night.”

Grande plays Glinda the Good Witch in director Jon M. Chu’s long-awaited musical fantasy film, which is based off the popular stage musical of the same name, while Slater plays munchkin Boq Woodsman.

The couple have been incredibly private since dating rumours first emerged last July.

They were photographed arriving at Sydney airport on Saturday morning alongside Wicked’s leading lady Cynthia Erivo, with the pair spotted linking arms as they exited the international terminal.

Grande and Slater grew close on-set of Wicked, which began filming in London in late 2022. At the time, the pop singer was still married to US realtor Dalton Gomez.

Slater was married to his high school sweetheart Lilly Jay, whom he wed in 2018. They welcomed a son in 2022.

In July 2023, reports emerged Grande and Gomez had quietly separated in January following two years’ marriage. Days later, Grande and Slater were rumoured to be newly dating.

Slater, for his part, filed for divorce from Jay on July 26.

Jay hit out at her ex-husband and Grande at the time, telling Page Six, “[Ariana’s] the story, really. Not a girl’s girl. My family is just collateral damage.”

However, multiple sources told the outlet Slater and Jay had separated two months prior.

While Grande and Slater haven’t outright commented on their romance, the singer recently hit out at negative tabloid rumours regarding their union.

“The most disappointing part was to see so many people believe the worst version of it,” Grande told Vanity Fair in September. “There couldn’t be a less accurate depiction of a human being than the one that the tabloids spread about him.”

Wicked officially hits cinemas November 21.

It heralds the first of a two-part film adaptation, featuring characters from L. Frank Baum’s beloved 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
