Ariana Grande spotted landing in Australia with boyfriend Ethan Slater

Pop singer and movie star Ariana Grande has been met with a wild reception upon landing Sydney airport with her boyfriend Ethan Slater.

Ariana Grande has been embraced by a swarm of fans as she jetted into Australia to promote her buzzy new film, Wicked.

The US pop star and actress, 31, was met with a chaotic reception at Sydney airport on Saturday morning, where she was joined by her boyfriend and co-star, US actor Ethan Slater.

Grande was dressed fittingly for her high-profile arrival, top-to-toe in pink in a nod to her beloved character, Glinda the Good Witch.

British actress Cynthia Erivo, who plays lead character Elphaba, joined her co-stars, also paying tribute to her character in a green jacket dress and matching platform heels.

The trio were all smiles as they were mobbed by dozens of fans while making their way out of the terminal.

Grande stopped to sign autographs and take selfies with fans, while also happily posing for local media.

Australia marks the first stop for the Wicked cast on their global tour, with its premiere being held at Sydney’s State Theatre November 3.

“Hi Australia! We’ve got something exciting to share,” Erivo said in a social media video posted October.

“We are heading to Australia to unveil our new movie, Wicked!” Grande added, before co-star Jeff Goldblum and director Jon M. Chu appeared.

“Hey Sydney! We’re thrilled that Australia will be the first stop on our global tour. We can’t wait for you to experience the magic of Wicked on the big screen,” Chu said.

“We have a few more surprise guests that will be joining us down under, so keep an eye out.”

Grande and Slater, 32, grew close on-set of Wicked in London in late 2022, while the pop singer was still married to Dalton Gomez. Slater, for his part, was married to his high school sweetheart Lilly Jay.

Grande separated from Gomez in January 2023 after two years’ marriage, though news of their split didn’t emerge until the July. A few days later, reports emerged Grande and Slater had been quietly dating for several weeks. Slater officially filed for divorce from Lilly Jay on July 26.

Grande and her ex-husband Dalton Gomez were married for two years.

Grande and Slater have kept details of their romance private.

While Grande and Slater haven’t outright commented on their romance, the thank u, next singer recently hit out at negative tabloid rumours regarding their union.

“The most disappointing part was to see so many people believe the worst version of it,” Grande told Vanity Fair in September. “There couldn’t be a less accurate depiction of a human being than the one that the tabloids spread about him.”

Wicked hits cinemas November 21.

It heralds the first of a two-part film adaptation of the popular stage musical of the same name, featuring characters from L. Frank Baum’s 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
