Carrie Bickmore and her TV exec partner Chris Walker have sashayed onto social media, in what cynics describe as their first step of Operation Damage Control.

The 41-year-old mother-of-three was joined by Walker and her radio co-host Tommy Little on Wednesday learning the bachata, dubbed the romantic dance, in London, sharing footage of the dance class to the ‘Gram.

But forget the Latin dance, this is all about creating spin.

Because nothing screams the need for some wholesome family content and changing the narrative than Walker accidentally stripping naked in front of a slew of his Aunty work colleagues while on a Skype phone call.

Cringe.

And to make matters worse, the eye-boggling footage of the TV exec’s junk in his UK bathroom reportedly beamed back to ABC’s studios on a 1.5 metre screen.

Double cringe.

So no surprises when a week after racy headlines screamed such things as personal favourite Walker’s Tug of War (we were secretly hoping for Carrie Dickmore), Bickmore took to Instagram with a picture and short video of her and her long term partner Walker learning the bachata while on their sabbatical in the UK.

The couple is taking a sabbatical in the UK.

“Stepped out of our comfort zones and gave bachata dancing a try,” Bickmore posted with a picture of her and Walker grinning.

The Project’s Bickmore has long built a carefully constructed brand around her bubbly, fun loving, family focused, hard working lifestyle.

She has earned it too. Many behind the TV screens have long praised Bickmore as great fun and a true professional. She has plenty in the biz in her corner, some furiously so and fiercely protective of her.

Many TV insiders were quick to say how “mortified” and “appalled” Bickmore would have been at last week’s revelation by the Herald Sun, despite her openly and jokingly laughing about being somewhat of a nudist family on her radio show.

But we all know that is the controlled narrative. There is nothing showbiz people hate more than not being in control of their carefully curated brand. C’mon, that’s what social media is for.
