Footy WAGS Hannah Davis and Olivia Burke are approaching this year’s Brownlow in a more relaxed manner than in previous years.
Davis, the partner of last year’s winner Hawthorn star Tom Mitchell, admits she felt overwhelmed by the occasion but is more positive about it this season.
“Last year was very overwhelming. It wasn’t the most enjoyable experience, but when you embrace the process it’s really fun. This year we’ve made a pact for it to be exciting and fun,” she says.
It helps when you have the A-team of stylist Lana Wilkinson, hairdresser Marie Uva and make-up artist Jade Kisnorbo, getting you red carpet ready.
“I’m lucky I have a great team making it easier for me this year. Sonia Cappallazzo is doing my dress, so it’s going to be amazing,” Davis says.
Burke, the partner of Tigers star Tom Lynch, says the first time she attended the Brownlow the couple had only been dating for six weeks.
“I had no idea what I was in for, but this is my fourth Brownlow now and this year I’ll be less nervous,” she says.
“It’s fun to get dressed up, there’s not many opportunities in life to wear a ball gown.
“But it’s really a night to celebrate the players and I’m just a by-product of that.”
