Beauty mogul George Moskos turns to medicinal cannabis business

The businessman behind Miranda Kerr’s skincare range has turned his sights to medicinal cannabis and its potential as a natural medicine.

The man behind Miranda Kerr, Jessica Hart, Lara Worthington and Natalie Imbruglia’s natural beauty ranges has turned his sights to natural medicine.

George Moskos has been the go-to guy in Australia when celebrities want to create and market their own skincare and cosmetic ranges.

“I’ve always been into the natural and organic realm,” Moskos said.

“I have liked natural cosmetics which I put together with Jess Hart, organic skincare that I did with Miranda, and now I am working with medicinal cannabis, a natural medicine.”

Becoming a father and watching a “highly conservative” immediate family member treat their fibromyalgia symptoms with medicinal cannabis helped inspire Moskos to opt for a
career pivot into the world of medicinal cannabis.

Moskos said it was a “natural evolution”. “I have a doctor in my family who is an authorised prescriber,” he said. “He helped a friend of mine who had cancer, to manage his pain.

“He has also helped my close family member with chronic pain, and that clinched it for me.

“The fact it was so hard for people to get access to this space is what made me want to support patients being able to connect with the right doctors.”

Moskos has since founded a company which facilitates doctors and patients to be able to connect with each other.

“The medical cannabis space is a space that is growing at the moment at a rapid rate, and we
are basically helping people with that journey that they’re on in a responsible environment with qualified medical practitioners that basically coach you through the use of any medicines including medicinal cannabis,” he said.

It’s a change of direction for Moskos, who overhauled Lara Worthington’s image after scandal surrounded her in 2012.

“I guess I have grown up a bit,” he said.

“My priorities have changed now I have a family as well.”
