Oscars 2025 red carpet: A-listers best and worst dressed

Nearly naked looks, feathers, lace, satin and sequins turned heads at the Oscars after party, as the stars vied for attention. See the looks and vote for your favourite.

Stars assemble for Hollywood's night of nights

The biggest stars of the entertainment world dazzled on the red carpet ahead of the 97th Academy Award, and again for the Vanity Fair after party.

Stars favoured feathers this year as well as a muted colour palette of blacks and nude tones to the award ceremony — but there were a few pops of colour with Zoe Saldana’s red Saint Laurent dress and Timothée Chalamet’s bright yellow suit by Givenchy.

The Oscars ceremony kicked off at 11am AEDT.

There was more colour on display at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party red carpet, including some head turning sheer gowns.

Olivia Wilde turned heads in a see-through Chloé gown, that was debuted at Paris Fashion week late last year.

The boho-chic number featured dainty embroidery, as well as a ruffled eyelet neckline and bottom. Wilde paired it with matching briefs and no top.

Kendall Jenner and Doja Cat also embraced sheer looks, wearing black and bronze gowns, respectively.

The 2025 Academy Awards were hosted by veteran comedian Conan O’Brien in his Oscar hosting debut.

Spanish-language musical Emilia Perez led the way with 13 nominations and Wicked, The Brutalist, Conclave and Anora were also among the top contenders.
