Oscars 2017: Red Carpet Dresses and Outfits — Best Dressed Celebrities

AUSTRALIAN actor Nicole Kidman has turned heads on the Oscars red carpet, wearing one of the trends of the night: a nude-coloured dress.

AUSTRALIAN actor Nicole Kidman has turned heads on the Oscars red carpet, wearing one of the trends of the night: a nude-coloured dress.

STYLE turned political at the Oscars, with Hollywood stars wearing their anti-Donald Trump views literally pinned to their dresses.

Supermodel Karlie Kloss, Loving Best Actress nominee Ruth Negga (in red Valentino) and Best Oiginal Song nominee Lin-Manuel Miranda wore blue ribbons to support the American Civil Liberties Union in the wake of President Trump’s controversial travel ban.

La La Land star and Best Actress winner Emma Stone teamed her floor-length gold Givenchy gown with a pin of the Planned Parenthood logo — a reference to Trump’s anti-women’s rights policies — as did Fifty Shaes Darker actor Dakota Johnson, wearing sleeved Gucci.

Metallic gold and silver were key trends of the night, with Jessica Biel wearing gold KaufmanFranco and Australian actor Teresa Palmer — at her first Oscars — in silver Prada.

Lion star Nicole Kidman turned heads wearing another key Oscars trend, the “naked” dress, this time in nude-coloured Armani.

Oscar nominee Michelle Williams wore a Louis Vuitton take on nude, with a two-tone gown that had a deep neckline and full skin-and-gold-coloured skirt.

Swimsuit model Chrissy Teigen sported a sleeved white Zuhair Murad Couture gown, complete with thigh-high split.

But it was D-list American actor Blanca Blanco who showed way too much flesh, wearing a puff-sleeved gown with a split right up to her hip.

Blanco teamed the belted dress, which almost certainly didn’t include knickers, with goth-style strappy shoes leading her straight to the worst dressed list.

She raised eyebrows on the red carpet with an embarrassing (and inevitable) wardrobe malfunction when she posed for photos, standing with her legs apart.

American actor Blanca Blanco is wearing a dramatic, puff-sleeved gown with a split right up to her, um, hip, which led to an embarrassing (and inevitable) wardrobe malfunction.
