Timothée Chalamet has responded to widespread speculation his girlfriend Kylie Jenner is feuding with his former co-star Selena Gomez.
The rumours intensified on Monday after a video captured Gomez with singer Taylor Swift and actress Keleigh Sperry seemingly gossiping about the Wonka star and Jenner during the Golden Globes ceremony in LA.
In the clip that has since gone viral, many viewers are convinced Gomez told her famous friends that she had approached Chalamet inside the Beverly Hilton where the ceremony was held, asking him for a photo.
But apparently Jenner refused to allow Chalamet – who appeared in the 2019 rom-com A Rainy Day in New York opposite Gomez – to take a photo with the actress.
“I asked for a picture with him she said no,” is what sleuths claim the Only Murders in the Building star told her BFFs.
“With Timothée?” Sperry, who is married to Top Gun: Maverick star Miles Teller, supposedly asked, her mouth open from shock as Gomez nodded.
Now, two days after the drama unfolded in front of a global audience, Chalamet has clarified there is no beef between Gomez and Jenner.
Speaking to TMZ during a reluctant run-in on the streets of LA, the Call Me By Your Name star said there was no bad blood between the trio.
“Are you and Selena cool?” a reporter from the outlet asked, to which he replied, “Yeah, of course.”
He was also asked if Gomez and Jenner had beef and he said, “No.”
“But they’re good, right?” the reported pressed, to which the annoyed-looking actor said, “All good.”
This isn’t the first time news of friction between Gomez and Jenner have made headlines.
Tension can be traced back to March last year when Jenner and her bestie Hailey Baldwin – who is married to Gomez’s ex Justin Bieber – seemingly mocked Gomez’s TikTok video.
At the time, the actress had told her fans that she had “accidentally laminated her brows too much”, and days later Jenner and Bieber shared a similar TikTok in which they joked about their eyebrows.
The internet seemed to side with Gomez, with Baldwin losing close to one million followers on Instagram after she was labelled a “mean girl”.
After much backlash, Jenner was forced to issue a statement on social media.
“No shade towards Selena ever, and I didn’t see her eyebrow posts!” she wrote at the time.
“You guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly.”
Despite liking videos and posts calling the Jenner and Baldwin “mean girls”, Gomez agreed with the Kylie Cosmetics mogul and said there was no drama between the women.
“Agreed @kyliejenner, “she replied. “It’s all unnecessary. I’m a fan of Kylie!”
