‘Shocking’: Fans speculate reason for Taylor Swift’s and Selena Gomez’ gossip at Golden Globes

Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez were caught gossiping at the Golden Globes, with Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner reportedly the subject.

Fan theories have been going wild after Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez were spotted gossiping at the 2024 Golden Globes on Sunday, with Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet seemingly at the centre of attention.

A video capturing the two singers talking intensely has gone viral, with fans quick to lip read and analyse the clip.

Selena was supposedly caught on camera telling her BFF that Jenner was gatekeeping Chalamet, stopping other guests from taking pictures with the star.

Before the drama, Swift’s The Eras Tour movie lost out to Barbie which won the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement award — a new category for the 2024 Globes.

Swift was a gracious loser but was seen being consoled by her best friend, Gomez.

The video shows the pair, as well as Miles Teller’s wife Keleigh Sperry having an extremely animated discussion, with fans whipping up a wild theory online.

Fans are claiming Selena said: “I asked for a picture with him (Timothee Chalamet) and she (Kylie Jenner) said no.”

“With Timothee?” Taylor Swift supposedly asked, her mouth wide open from shock, with Selena Gomez nodding in response.

Back in 2018 Gomez and Chalamet starred as love interests in Woody Allen film A Rainy Day In New York.

The clip has caught mass attention from fans of both sides, with hundreds of comments flooding socials.

“Selena Gomez is at the Golden Globes because she’s nominated, Kylie is at the golden globes because her boyfriend is nominated. Know your place girl,” one person wrote.

While another expressed: “Selena so real. Whenever something happens to me I’m running straight to my girls”

Others wrote the pair “spilling tea” at the Golden Globes was the “highlight” of the event, as another wrote: “I love Taylors face”.

Kylie Jenner fans were quick to defend her actions, saying she had a right to protect her famous partner.

“Kylie Jenner a real one for saying no to Selena Gomez wanting a photo,” one person said.

“On the 7th day of 2024 god gave me Selena Gomez victimising herself at an award show bc (because) she couldn’t take a pic with someone else’s man during commercial break,” chimed in another.

A third person added: “She was nominated in the Golden Globes but end up talking about Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet, that's how sad her life is.”

Earlier during the night Jenner and Chalamet were at the centre of attention after the stars were spotted sharing sweet kisses during a commercial break.

Swift was also in the spotlight after a joke about her from the Golden Globes host comedian Jo Koy didn’t land well.

Swift was left unimpressed when the comedian took aim at her relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce and the constant spotlight placed on her at his football games during her highly publicised displays of support for the Kansas City Chiefs tight-end.
