Mia Farrow and Woody Allen’s son Ronan Farrow will speak at a “weekend of ideas, action and change” at the Sydney Opera House.

The event, ANTIDOTE 2018, will take place on September 1-2.

Farrow is a lawyer and journalist whose reporting for The New Yorker magazine helped spawn the #metoo movement which brought down movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.

Among other speakers at the event will be Chelsea Manning, the transgender woman who was jailed between 2010 and 2017 for violations of the Espionage Act when she leaked classified military documents to WikiLeaks.

Also appearing in ANTIDOTE will be Sisonke Msimang, a South African writer whose work focuses on race, gender and democracy.

The British Bangladeshi former Muslim radical, Ed Husain, will appear in the event. Husain is now a counter-extremism adviser and liberal Islam advocate.

Among other speakers will be Human Rights Watch satellite imagery analyst and former UN investigator Joshua Lyon.

ANTIDOTE is a festival of the Opera House’s Talks and Ideas program.

“ANTIDOTE provides the opportunity to hear from some of the most brilliant and forward-thinking people on earth about how they want our future to be,” ANTIDOTE festival director Dr Edwina Throsby said.
