Britney Spears has posted a series of nude photos on Instagram, leaving fans questioning her mental health.

The photos show the 40-year-old completely naked, holding her breasts, and include a strategically placed love-heart emoji.

Nine near-identical photos of the pregnant star were posted over two days, along with bizarre captions, as fans became increasingly concerned about her wellbeing.

“Someone who loves and cares about her needs to help her. This isn’t normal at all,” wrote one worried fan.

Another wrote: “She is not well. Someone needs to step in immediately because this is not normal behaviour. This is absolutely heartbreaking.”

“I don’t know her but these public posts are clearly attention seeking and are worrying. Not something to be encouraged,” wrote another fan.

Spears and fiance Sam Asgharher recently announced they were expecting their first child together, following their engagement last September.

In November, a Los Angeles judge dissolved a conservatorship overseen by her father, which Spears had previously claimed prevented her from removing a contraceptive IUD.

The claim sparked controversy, prompting outrage from reproductive rights groups and further fuelling the #freebritney movement.

But fans are now questioning whether Spears is coping with her new-found freedom, and urging those who love her to “step in”.

Spears captioned the first batch of photos with “Photo dump of the last time I was in Mexico BEFORE there was a baby inside me... why the heck do I look 10 years younger on vacation??”

She posted another three similar photos on the same day along with the caption: “Don’t underestimate the power of doing it myself and shooting with a selfie stick. Photo dump before there was a child inside me.”

Spears posted another three almost identical photos the following day, captioned “I love you all SSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOO much !!!!
