Doctor John Evans facing disciplinary action over the issuing of fake vax certificates
A doctor in Lake Macquarie has allegedly admitted to police that he has written 400 fake Covid-19 vaccination certificates, with hundreds more pending.

Teachers who obtained dodgy Covid exemption certificates over the phone allegedly from a Central Coast doctor will be quizzed by their school and could expect a knock on the door from police.
Dr John Evans, 84, has been referred by police to the state’s Health Care Complaints Commission after claims he was issuing the exemptions without proper medical consultation. Dr Evans allegedly told them he had issued 400 with another 300 pending.
The Lake Macquarie doctor, who came out of retirement, shut down his list last Thursday according to a message on his answer phone.
Police interviewed Dr Evans after a local called the Ray Hadley 2GB radio show about some teachers at the Kempsey Seventh-day Adventist school using the certificates. avoid mandatory double vaccinations.
“Detectives from Lake Macquarie Police District conducted inquiries, speaking to an 84-year-old man, and the matter has been referred to the relevant health authorities,” NSW Police said in a statement.
The doctor could not be contacted on Monday.
