Dine and Discover: how to get entry to Sydney attractions for free

Here’s everything you need to know about the Dine and Discover rollout, plus how to use the vouchers for free entry to Sydney attractions.

Vaccine rollout: Where do I go and how do I book in?

The Dine and Discover COVID voucher program will finally be rolled out across the state by the end of March after months of teasing from the state government.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian said every adult will have access to the vouchers in the next two weeks, with 68 LGAs already eligible.

“This is really part of our success story in NSW of recovering from COVID and instilling confidence and hope about the future,” she said.

Ms Berejiklian said the program is a win-win for customers and businesses.

“We want everyone right across our state to get out and about and enjoy the very best that NSW has to offer,” Treasurer Dominic Perrottet said.

Here’s everything you need to know about the vouchers.

WHAT DO THE VOUCHERS COVER?

All adults over 18 can apply for four vouchers worth $25 each — two Dine and two Discover.

The Dine vouchers are for use at any restaurant, cafe, pub or bar that is registered as COVID Safe with Service NSW.

The vouchers are for dining in, so can’t be used for takeaway or delivery, and while they can be used for food at pubs, you can’t use the vouchers for alcohol.

The Discover vouchers are for use at entertainment and cultural attractions around NSW, so think museums, wildlife parks, live music and cinemas.

The Discover vouchers can’t be used for gambling.

HOW DO I GET MY VOUCHERS?

To apply for your vouchers, you will need to access the Service NSW app or website with an account.

In the app, just go to the vouchers tab, and remember you’ll need two forms of ID to apply.

On the website homepage, scroll down to ‘highlights’ and you’ll see the Dine and Discover page there.

Once you’re approved you’ll receive the vouchers in your email inbox, but you can also find them in the app with QR codes for the business to scan.

WHERE CAN I USE THEM?

Any business registered as COVID safe will be eligible to accept the vouchers.

You can check which businesses in your area are registered by searching your suburb on this Service NSW page.

Some businesses are already advertising the vouchers, including Dendy Cinemas Newtown where you can grab a free large popcorn if you use your voucher there.

The rollout will be complete by the end of March, but the list of LGAs currently eligible can be found here.

WHEN CAN I USE THEM?

If your LGA is on the list of this week’s roll out, you can get your vouchers right now.

The Dine vouchers can be used any time Monday to Thursday, while the Discover vouchers can be used any day of the week.

Neither can be used on public holidays, and the vouchers expire on June 30.

Remember if you don’t use the full $25 on the voucher it will void the remaining balance, so best to use the whole $25 when you present the voucher.

WHAT DEALS ARE AVAILABLE?

The Discover vouchers can be used for entry to attractions including the Sea Life Aquarium and Madame Tussauds.

Experience provider Klook is offering tickets to a range of attractions in Sydney and across the state for $25 — the price of a discover voucher, essentially meaning entry is free.

Just enter your voucher code from Service NSW at checkout.
