Welcome to the Trading Day blog for Wednesday, October 24. The ASX 200 index is up 0.3 per cent to 8226.60 points at 11.10am AEDT, with tech stocks offsetting some broader gains. US indexes closed mostly flat.

The Aussie dollar is trading around US66.82c.
