That's all from the Trading Day blog for Friday, October 18. A day after hitting a record high of 8384.50 points on Thursday the ASX 200 dropped to a two-day low of 8262.2 on broad-based falls before closing downl 0.9 per cent at 8283.2 . 

The Aussie dollar is trading around US67.09c.
