Gold Coast paramedics responded to an incident involving a truck and several vehicles on the Pacific Motorway southbound at Nerang.
Footage shows a car wedged under a ute, with a cement truck behind the two vehicles.
Delays up to an hour saw police urge motorists to avoid the M1 by stopping them at Southport Nerang Road.
Seven patients were assessed at the scene for minor injuries with six declining hospital transport.
A man in his 50s was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
The incident has since been cleared and traffic is flowing freely.
Meanwhile, the Bruce Highway at Midgee, 15km south of Rockhampton has been closed after a serious two-vehicle crash has left two people trapped in vehicles and one fighting for their life.
Paramedics attended the crash around 3pm and treated a woman on scene for critical injuries.
A woman in her 30s with chest injuries and a man remained trapped in vehicles in serious conditions.
Police have advised commuters the avoid the area with delays expected.
Another incident in Moreton Bay has closed an intersection after a truck reportedly hit a tree at around 2.40pm.
The intersection of Henry Rd and Dohles Rocks Rd, Griffin saw one patient taken to the Redcliffe Hospital in a stable condition.
