Police charge man with murder after alleged assault victim dies
Police have charged a man with murder after the victim of an alleged assault involving a wooden chair died from his injuries.

A Rockhampton man has been charged with murder after the man he allegedly hit on the head with a wooden chair handle last month died.
About 10pm on January 28 two men, who were known to each other, became involved in an altercation at a Mackay St property.
Police allege 35-year-old Hamid Hussein used a wooden chair handle to hit the other man on the head once, causing critical head injuries.
A 32-year-old Lakes Creek Man collapsed on the ground and was taken to Rockhampton Hospital in a critical condition.
He died on January 30 after being on life support since the incident.
Hussein was charged with one could of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm at the time, but the charge has since been updated to murder.
Another man who lived with the pair had called police after witnessing the attack.
Hussein will reappear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on May 5.
